Merry Christmas!

Santa came to our new house overnight, and Mom and Dad came over to watch the girls open up their gifts. None of the gifts left under the tree by Santa were disturbed, nor were the gifts that I wrapped and put on the shelves a couple weeks ago. We have surprisingly patient girls.

The stockings, however, that I had hung by the chimney with care were pulled down when the girls saw that Santa had put things in them. At the old house, the stockings were hung in the stairway, out of reach from the girls. Here, I hung them on the fireplace. Naturally. But even though the stockings were all pulled down, nothing was open. Just poked at.

I’m really glad we were able to do Christmas here. It was nice to have space to have people watch us open gifts and it was nice to be able to let the girls run around a little when they woke up instead of having to get up with them. (At the old house, we didn’t let them go downstairs on their own due to the baby gates blocking the stairway. So once they were up, one of us had to get up to chaperone. At the new house, we can let the big two run on their own because there isn’t anywhere to get into much trouble.) It’s been a nice, relaxed holiday. Hope yours was good, too!
