The girls love the new house. Here are five things they are especially excited about.
- Windows
- Windows
This house has a few HUGE windows. The girls love
looking at the plants, the sky, and the animals outside. The windows are now
covered in fingerprints. And mouth prints. I will be having them wear Windex
covered gloves in the house now so that they can wipe the windows clean as they
look outside.
We have a long wood floored hallway, a laminate
floor bathroom, and a laminate floor kitchen. There is lots of space for the
girls to roller skate, which they never got to do at the old house.
Interestingly, there is also a lot of room to leave skates laying around so
that I can trip on them. What seems ridiculous on cartoons actually does play
out that way in real life.
- Running in Circles
We have a loop in this house: kitchen, play room,
hallway, living room, dining room, back to kitchen. The girls run laps and
often do so as they ride on Winnie Horse, pull a wagon, push a stroller, or
wear the previously mentioned skates. There is much screaming as they run, too.
- More Space
We have lots more room, both inside and out. Lots
of yard for running. Lots of carpet for playing. And lots of floor space for
dumping out all the toys and leaving them spread out as much as possible so
that Mommy and Daddy are constantly muttering expletives as they navigate from
room to room. (Why is there a bear pile in the living room door way? Anyone?)
- Cement
There wasn’t much cement at the old house. Here we
have plenty of room for sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and rolling balls. We could
even get some outdoor riding things like a tricycle or scooter to enjoy. It’s
hard to beat that kind of improvement. The tricky part, though, will be
smuggling out those outdoor riding things from my parents’ house without them
noticing. I don’t think my pink and blue big wheels will fit under a shirt.
